Become a GAL

To become a Guardian ad litem for the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court, attorneys must attend New Guardian ad Litem Training (pre-service training), which the Guardian ad Litem Project offers. New GAL Training will be announced shortly. We hold this training cooperatively with the Cuyahoga County Domestic Relations Court.

Once an attorney completes New Guardian ad Litem Training, the attorney must submit an
Guardian ad Litem Application to the Guardian ad Litem Project.

2017 Fatherhood Conference

2017 Fatherhood Conference

Child and Family Advocates of Cuyahoga County Staff attended the 2017 Fatherhood Conference at  the Wyndham Playhouse Square Hotel in June. The Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative's Celebration of Fatherhood is an annual forum created specifically to promote healthy father-child relationships, address the social problems that result from "father absence" and strategize as to what we must do, as a community, to ensure that every child has a dad in their lives.

The Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative (CCFI) seeks to strengthen families in our community by encouraging fathers to play a more active role in nurturing and raising their children. The Fatherhood Initiative responds to the social concerns regarding "father absence" by providing fathers with services to prepare them to meet the psychological and financial needs of their children. The CCFI also seeks to increase public awareness of the importance of father involvement. To learn more, please click here.
