Our pre-service training equips you to advocate powerfully and compassionately for abused/neglected children. It covers the child protection system, CASA volunteer role, trauma and resilience, cultural competence, system improvement, and more.
Before registering for the New CASA Pre-Service Training, complete a CASA Application, complete a thorough interview, pass background and screening, and submit the pre-work materials. If you have questions about the CASA Program or becoming a CASA volunteer, please email Hannah Wiltshire, CASA Program Director, at [email protected].
Join us for a valuable Zoom session to enhance CASA volunteers’ communication skills with children and manage tough conversations. Deborah London, a dedicated CASA volunteer, will share effective techniques tailored to different ages. Learn to build stronger connections with the children you advocate for. Don’t miss this chance to grow as a CASA volunteer.
The Crossover Youth Practice Model (CYPM) was created by the Center for Juvenile Justice Reform in 2010 to help at-risk youth who are caught between the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. The model is implemented by professionals to cater to the unique needs of maltreated children who are more prone to delinquent behavior. This session will discuss the CYPM implementation and professionals’ roles and review case studies and outcomes.
